A message from the Managing Director
They say “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step”. Ours begun in the year 2015 in the Republic of Zambia.
Lazola Investments (Z) Ltd was incorporated on 30th January 2015. At the time, the saloon and beauty spa business was a ‘hot cake’ business in Lusaka city. Like many, we also fell for the spell and commenced operations in the up-class area of Woodlands. But within one year of operation, the business had collapsed and was closed. “Where did we g0 wrong?”
A series of heated Board meetings and deep introspection revealed where we had gone wrong. Civil Engineers had opted to run a saloon and beauty spa business because it was a good profit making venture at the time. The business intention and competitive advantage were wrong. “We had deviated from our core values!”
Since the unknown was now known and a good lesson learnt, we went back to the drawing table. On the 17th November 2017, Lazola Construction Ltd was incorporated and continued operations from its predecessor.
The renewed business focus was to provide quality but affordable infrastructure solutions. Appropriate business strategies were aligned to the corporate goal and the right people were put to work … the rest is history. The year 2020 is another critical milestone in our growth. Despite of the Covid-19 pandemic crashing economies globally and leaving many businesses down sized or closed. We saw an opportunity and boldly seized it by opening an office in Kampala, Uganda. This confidence is bedded in our corporate values and past business success track record. We are sure that our tested business strategies and management capacity will not let us down in this new jurisdiction.
The Ugandan offices is intended to conduct business within the Eastern and Central Africa regions as the Zambian office remains to take care of business in the southern Africa region. We look forward to commissioning the Ghana office which shall take care of business in the Western Africa Region. The target is to become a recognized and trusted brand within the Sub-Sahara Africa region.
